Wedding Woes, and More!
After a very unnecessary delay I have quite the story for you all!
After having a nice conversation with Tesla and Ferryl Allens about the family wedding they were to be attending, we were asked if we would like to come along and take pictures! Depending on a family's religion or cultural background, random guests at weddings are not unheard of- anyone is allowed to partake in the joys of a union as long as they remain civil. Uncle Clyde and I agreed that this would be a perfect opportunity to take more photos of different places and people and so we accepted the offer, which was for three weeks ago.
Before this we had plenty of time to mosey about the small town, visit the shops and look over historical sites and information. We had so far been enjoying the hotel, our room was very open and bright with a look out to the small bubbly creek in the back with the various little nooks for sitting around.
When the date of the wedding arrived, Clyde and I dressed in a relaxed wear. I wore my yellow dress and cute yellow shoes with a very fun sun hat I purchased from Moores Market at the corner. Clyde wore his nice cap and decorated his horns, meanwhile I painted luck symbols on his forearms. In most cultures at most weddings, it's appropriate for the men to paint their forearms with signs of luck, only the groom wears the symbols of both luck and strength. Women, such as myself, adorn themselves with flowers to symbolize life and fertility, the bride will be adorned with flowers as well.
After getting ready we stepped outside and noticed the sky was littered with clouds, being it was the beginning of November (Torin) the thought of a possible storm wasn't far fetched and we hoped for the best. Uncle told me he had that feeling the storm wasn't going to be pleasant when it arrived. I climbed onto Clydes back and held tight for take off, the sky was growing dark very quickly, and as we flew over the town to our destination the wind began to pick up pushing us with sudden warm gusts.
Unfortunately, by the time we arrived people were clearing out and the Allens explained the wedding had to be postponed due to, "A severe incoming storm, Naa was not approving on this particular day and the waring is obvious if not ominous." They did appreciate our desire to attend the wedding, however. Then the droplets fell, one, two,three,four...A distant boom across the mountains reverberated. Anyone who came by flight took to the sky and kept low while those who came by automobile rushed to their cars. To their dismay, I remember seeing the bride and groom looking at the gardens with frustration. It was not their day to become one. Clyde urged that we all leave soon and separate ways we all went.
The ride to the hotel was very stressful on my uncle, the winds grew, we both lost our hats, and when we finally reached the hotel we were soaked to the bone. Uncle was especially rattled by the lightning which zapped all around, but he was thankful it never touched us. Taschevah should never fly during a storm lest they become a target for lightning or get caught up in a hail storm. Upon entering the building, a loud crack exploded out front as a strike toppled a powerline, then all went dark. We, among the other residents of the hotel including Tesla, Ferryl and their son Eddie, stood in the darkness of main entryway to watch the chaos brought by this storm. The winds blew the rain in all directions, it was frightening to poor little Eddie.
The storm itself lasted 3 days, but certainly did a number on the town. Mudslides and landslides damaged buildings on hillsides, fallen trees laid to rest atop homes and businesses, lightning struck homes. Within a few days all the power was restored and by this time many of the residents had cleared from the hotel, the Allens thanked us again for considering the wedding ceremony before they headed back to Polk. Up in our own room, Clyde would spend most of the day reading in his chair while I journeyed into the garden of the hotel. It was littered with fallen limbs, leaves, and one fairly large oak crumbled a portion of the beautiful brick wall. It took almost two weeks for the stream to clear from the soupy red washed from the mountainside.
Since then, there have been spots of rain but no severe storms. We will be spending another few weeks here before moving along to Buergona, another smaller town located a few miles over. I will post photos when I can, until then, thanks for reading!

More to come later
We have been in and out of our hotel taking notes on the valley town. But I thought I would share this little boy I took a photo of in the garden earlier.
This is Eddie, age 7 years, he and his parents are visiting from Polk, a more southern territory along the coast. This is his first time in the mountains. They came here to enjoy the last bits of cooler summer and attend a friends wedding. Eddie and his family are Noreako taschevah.
I will be posting another photo or two later.

Mertyl Valley
We arrived in Mertyl Valley yesterday and will begin touring the city soon enough. Right now Uncle Clyde is resting from the flight complaining to me that his left wings elbow was pinching, so on the way here he took his time.
Flying over the smaller towns on the way here was a bit interesting, we flew a tad higher than what we would normally in Ramsfield. Thankfully there wasn't any bad weather aside from the chill from going higher up in elevation.
So far, Mertyle Valley is a nice little bustling town in the mountains with a clear stream running through the back of our hotel garden and down the mountain side.
Here's a silly shot of myself and Uncle Clyde after landing and taking off our bags. :) More later!
Landing in Mertyl Valley: We've landed in Mertyl Valley! Uncle Clyde pulls out his favorite pipe to have an "old man smoke".

Getting Ready!
This morning I went over to Uncle Clyde's after I packed some of my things. He lives next door so it wasn't that far of a walk, haha.
He's feeling much better now and was busy figuring out what to pack. While he wasn't paying attention I snapped this photo of him. He looked a little confused XD
We will be leaving tomorrow to Mertyl Valley, but tonight we'll be enjoying a dinner with family before going off for what will likely be quite a long time. But this is going to be fun, not everyone gets to chronicle their travels and the world they live in.
Have a great evening, I will get back to you in a few days :)

Travel Update
Uncle Clyde has done a great job at kicking back and relaxing while waiting for his cold to recede, but we're waiting another day or two before heading out to our first travel destination, Mertyl Valley.
Mertyl Valley is only a few miles outside of Ramsfield and according to my uncle it's quite the bustling small city in the mountains. I can't wait to visit and learn more!
As promised, here's the photograph of the blue breasted doppelflinger, the more common name for them in our town have always been "boonies". These little monsters come in an array of colors and shapes, but that of course all depends on where they are located. They are dedicated to our whik-feeder, as you can see in the photo, and have a habit of consuming all the feed first.
Unfortunately I didn't find time to take photo's of home, so I will have to get to that later on.

Travel Delayed!
Due to unforeseen circumstances our trip has been delayed for a few days. The other night after my first blog the phone rang, Uncle Clyde has come down with an ugly cold so our adventures are going to be pushed back.
Although it hampered my mood a little it did give me some time to think about you, my readers! I can't wait to show you this wide world and all the neat and strange things in it. Tomorrow, I will post some photos of where I live and what I will be leaving when the time comes.
Ramsfield is a small foothills town where everyone knows everyone else and in general everyone is pretty friendly. Uncle Clyde told me to get use to change as I've never been outside of Ramsfield and don't know anything but. Of course we've had history lessons and world sciences, but it's the experience that should open my eyes the most. I'm on my toes! So ready to go!
I did spot my first blue breasted doppelflinger this morning and snapped a quick picture before it took off. I will need to download it off my camera tomorrow when I post again.

My first entry!
Hello!
Tonight is my last night here in Ramsfield before my uncle and I take off on our travels. Although I am a bit nervous, the excitement of visiting new territories all around the world definitely overrides my fears, and uncle Clyde will be with me every step of the way. Even he hasn't seen everything and has expressed great interest in visiting several unique locales.
Well. I am packed and ready to go, but I must get a nip of rest before we head out tomorrow.
