Website revamp coming soon!

After a long sit down with myself, I have decided that Tala'Nynn needs a serious overhaul. I'm currently figuring out wordpress and laying out the basics of the site. I know I haven't touched Tala'Nynn in a while, but that's due for a change.

I will be focusing the website to both the comic (1st and formost) and tidbits about the world. Information will be basic so as not to create spoilers for the comic. Speaking of which, there's been a major overhaul of the story as well, fits better with the sci-fi direction which I wanted to take, and the characters have more substance and attraction. I felt the prior characters were flat so I made it clear to myself to start afresh. I am glad I did!

Keep your eyes open for the next few months, there will be a major change coming soon!

Ordiccia Flambora

I wanted to work on a plant today for Tala'Nynn, and so I messed with the ordiccia flambora. The roots and leaves are edible and the plant produces one male and one female flower, the male being the smaller bloom. Ordiccia taste similar to turnips. These plants are commonly found in shaded woods and are not heat tolerant, so they are also located in cooler locations.

Dream Sketch: Quiet Beach

I had a dream last night about a beach with a single Nimbwe taschevah walking along it. Although this isn't perfect, it's got the right vibe. The rock in the water should be about, oh, 5 times more massive. But as I said, it's close enough :)

2011 Taschevah Horn design: Mechaelen

I did something AWESOME. A horn :3

The new horn.

A. Horn is more claw-hoof like in texture with growth marks being fairly visible. Color has variations like hooves or claws.

B. Morse spots are still visible on the horns. They are bright, shiny, areas of calcium. Think of a pearl. It is possible for small pieces of these to chip off as the horn grows, but the calcium is always replaced.

C. Soft, squishy pad is similar to the bulb and frog of a horses hooves. The apex of the frog runs completely down the center underside of the horn as well as the surrounding sole. The nautiloid is now found inside the horn itself, being a nerve bundle that quite simply resembles the nautilus as tendril nerves spread from the spiral head to the end of the frog.

Slight design changes made to the knuckles. That will be worked on soon.

Who Got the Axe?

I did some trimming of Taschevah races the other day, there were a number which I have either put together as gender dimorphism or axed all together because I A) Never used them, and B) Felt they weren't necessary.

One particular pair of taschevah which I currently have, the Dhorikh and Akinu, will be put together as a dimorphic pair and their racial name will change to something more appropriate shortly. Tentatively, Dhorikh will represent the term for "Man" and Akinu will represent the term for "Female", however this may change as I'm building up their language.

Others in this group, B'kotae and Kabuchi will also be dimorphic, B'kotae being female while Kabuchi are male.

Who else is in line for a cut? I'm considering ditching the Xlotlmundi design and replacing it, as I appreciate the name. Uequoi are having a design change as well, though the name will stay.

As much as I hate to say, Yerian and Quinn may also be cut from the picture. *MAY* being the keyword. I know this will cause some malcontent amongst those who appreciate anthropomorphic characters, BUT, I am also trying to find a way to keep them on board without the world feeling overloaded with "People", yet being empty of them as well.

On a more positive note, I am doing my best to get this world fleshed out, I wont rush through it since as most of you know I am a nutcase perfectionist so if something isn't par for the course I'll redo it till I'm happy!
